Daily Summary

Rain … All … Day

At least it was warm. It started raining on us just minutes into the ride and continued to rain on us until we got to the hotel not quite 7 hours later. Two people dropped at mile 40. That left just two of us for the last half since one person was visiting with family today.

The ride started on nice, rural roads. As we approached what is really a Detroit suburb, the traffic got heavier. We had the rudest drivers we’ve had the entire tour today.

The end of the ride finished with some trails which only made us filthier than we already were. I don’t think I’ve been this dirty since I was a kid. I jumped into the shower with my clothes on to get the dirt off.

The Sights

I didn’t really capture many pictures. The first was when a bunch of police showed up. They are conferring on whether to arrest me or not in the photo. In the end, they decided to let me go.

I tried on the guide’s glasses for a bit to see if they worked better in the rain than mine. They didn’t, but it was an interesting look.

The final picture is my back when I finished. My bike was coating in dirt too.

Something In My Eye

Something got into my eye today. I tried to get it out a few times, but couldn’t. I had to ride with one eye closed on and off for a long time today.

Even after the ride as I write this, there is still something in there. I am hoping it will work its way out as I can’t see out of the eye well since it is so irritated.
