Daily Summary

Today Is What I Wish We Had Every Day!

Today started just barely chilly and warmed up to the mid-70’s with plenty of sun and little wind. We all enjoyed the ride.

For perspective, the day last week with the massive headwinds, I pedaled for 15 more minutes and barely made 72 miles instead of 100. In addition, I was totally spent fighting the wind for the 72 miles and today I feel great even after the ride. Others agreed it was a good day we hope for more of.

FYI – The official ride was about 99 miles. Several of us did some loops around the hotel parking lot and the neighborhood next door to hit 100. I know it’s stupid, but we couldn’t leave it at 99 …

The Sights

On the way out of Sioux Falls, we passed Augustana University. It had a nice campus and made me think of Augusta back home.

We passed a speedway a little out of town. It was much like Dixie Speedway and I imagine it would be a lot of fun to visit for an event.

There are two pictures of me entering Minnesota. We’ll be here a couple days.

Finally, the views were mostly fields, though with a few trees here and there, and so I didn’t take a bunch. We went through a few nice small towns, but I didn’t get any pictures.

The Hotel And Food

Hampton Inn breakfast, picnic lunch at a Pavillion in Worthington, MN. Dinner at a local diner place. We’re staying at an AmericInn as there isn’t much here. It all served its purpose.
